when sir Naval Ravikant said: “Everybody can be rich”, here’s what he actually meant.
not rich, but live in abundance
by rich, he meant in abundance. not having to worry about putting food on the table, have all your basic needs fulfilled (housing, food, water, high-speed internet, etc) for everyone.
this only works if all(if not a lot) of people work together
to drive the wheel of technology forward. combined efforts of thousand and millions of people in hard engineering and technological fields will drive the wheel of technology forward at a rapid pace, making lives much easier of each one of us. that is what getting rich means.
the status signalling still remains
even if everybody got rich, nobody got rich.
the status signally will still be there. there will still be signalling goods that only a few will be about to afford (because that is how the companies will price it so only a few can buy it) to show off their differenciability. luxury cars, luxury purses, luxury clothes, etc. like for example, in the olden days, the poor had horses and the rich had cars, but not it’s the other way around.
so what you really are getting is absolute abundance. you’re not getting richer than other people.
abundance
you’ll probably not have to work another day of your live to survive. once technology gets to a point where basic needs (food, shelter, clothing) become dirt cheap, you’re done for life if you wish.
like say it becomes super easy with technology to fabricate artificial food that contains all marcos.
